What is MicroMedEd?

MicroMedEd is an innovative educational platform that applies micro-learning principles to continuing medical education (CME) and continuing professional development (CPD). Through the presentation of concise educational content, learners acquire knowledge effectively and efficiently – whenever convenient to their schedule. The dynamic, fast-paced format delivers a learning experience similar to how many healthcare professionals now acquire new information from digital sources – quick, to the point, and focused on precisely defined clinical and scientific subjects.

What is micro-learning?

Micro-learning is based on short learning units that present focused and concise teaching points. MicroMedEd’s micro-learning combines brief expert-led presentations in a multimedia format with dynamic graphics.

How are MicroMedEd programs funded?

MicroMedEd programs are supported by independent, educational funding from industry.

Are MicroMedEd programs CME/CPD-accredited?

MicroMedEd presents programs that may be CME/CPD-accredited or unaccredited. Accreditation is specific to each program and the details can be found under the Accreditation tab.

Who can earn CME/CPD credits on MicroMedEd?

In order to earn credits, you must have an active individual account with MicroMedEd, the educational program you participate in must be accredited for your profession and must not have expired. Accreditation is specific to each program and the details can be found under the Accreditation tab.

Do I have to register before I can participate in a MicroMedEd program?

Yes, you must register to participate in MicroMedEd programs. Registration is simple, confirms that you are a healthcare provider, demonstrates that you have agreed to our user terms and conditions and provides you with a user profile from which you can track your program participation and CME/CPD credits earned.

What do you do with the information I provide when registering?

Your privacy is important to us. The information you provide when registering is held in confidence and not shared with any other party or entity.

What do I have to do to earn CME/CPD credit?

To qualify for credits, you must first create an account with MicroMedEd by clicking on the register button on the homepage. With an account in place, select a program, view each of the video modules and complete the micro post-tests.

How do I receive my CME/CPD certificate?

Upon completion of the last micro post-test of an accredited program, your certificate will be displayed and can be downloaded. Alternatively, access your profile by clicking on your account/name icon in the upper right corner of the page to view your MicroMedEd activity. Scroll down as necessary to find your certificates.

Can I see a history of my participation in MicroMedEd programs?

To view your history of participation in MicroMedEd programs, access your profile by clicking on your account icon in the top right-hand corner of the home page. Scroll down as necessary to view your MicroMedEd activity.

Do CME/CPD-accredited programs expire?

Yes, CME/CPD-accredited programs have an expiration date. Accreditation is specific to each program and the details can be found under the Accreditation tab.

How can I contact a MicroMedEd presenter?

Please send an email to micromeded@snellmedical.com referencing the program, presenter and stating your question/comment. You will receive a response within 72 hours.

I tried my password and now I’m locked out. What do I do?

If you try to input an incorrect password three or more times, the system will automatically lock you out. Please wait 15 minutes and then try again to reset your password. When resetting your password, please do not use a password that has been used previously. 

How do I reset a forgotten password?

Select the "Log in" button at the upper right of the page, then click "Forgot password?" You will receive an email with a reset link. If you do not receive an email within 5 minutes, please check your junk/spam mail folder. If you do not have access to the email on your account, please email micromeded@snellmedical.com.

How do I update my profile information including my email address?

To access your profile, login and/or click on your account name/icon in the top right-hand corner of the page. There, you can edit your information. Be sure to click on “Save changes” when you are finished.

Who do I contact to propose a new educational program?

Please send an email to micromeded@snellmedical.com including all relevant information. You will receive a response within 72 hours.
